Today, our guest tried making soba from scratch at our farmhouse. She enjoyed making the noodles and then had the soba she made for lunch. It was simple, delicious, and a fun part of her day in the Japanese countryside.
Beating the Summer Heat
It was a very hot summer day today. Even under the strong sunshine, everyone enjoyed walking through the tea fields with big smiles. Their cheerful smiles seemed to make the summer heat disappear, making it another wonderful day in the tea fields.
Rainy Tea Fields
Although it was a light rainy day in the middle of Japan’s rainy season, the cool weather made it very comfortable to explore. The tea fields, fresh from the rain, looked even more vibrant and beautifully green than usual. It was a wonderful day to enjoy the peaceful countryside.
Traditional Japanese Farmhouse
Today, I guided three guests to a traditional Japanese farmhouse surrounded by mountains. We enjoyed wonderful conversations while drinking green tea on the engawa veranda and relaxing in the peaceful countryside atmosphere. To finish our time together, we also enjoyed some roasted brown rice tea (genmaicha). It was a wonderful moment to share together.
